Question by ellemm: I need to find an ob-gyn in Houston, TX that will work with a twin pregnancy - any suggestions?
I'm brand new in Houston and 9 weeks pregnant with twins. I'm hoping someone out there had a good experience with an ob-gyn and can recommend someone. Best if you know they are willing to work with a twin pregnancy - many doctors aren't or automatically consider you high risk...
thanks in advance!

Houston has the best hospital district in North America. You can call Texas Women's and they can put you into contact with someone:
The Woman's Hospital of Texas
7600 Fannin
Houston, TX 77054
Telephone: (713) 790-1234

What do you think? Answer below!
I use a doc at Premier OB/GYN (who is a high risk doc b/c I had to have one) and so far I really like them.
Two offices, one in the Memorial area and the other is in Katy: 713-464-2100.
I’m not sure you’re going to find a doc that will consider twins to NOT be high risk. Afterall, the risks are higher. GOOD LUCK!
I’m no in TX, but I just wanted to mention one thing. Multiple pregnancy (and that includes twin pregnancies) are automatically considered high-risk. There is no going around that. What this means, is that you may be seen by your regular OB/GYN and a perinatologist at the same time.
Being pregnant with twins, your risk for everything is higher than those who are pregnant with only 1- high blood pressure, preterm labor, etc. And if you are carrying identical twins, there is certain risk that go along with that that may not be present if you are having fraternal twins.
I have 7 month old twins and while pregnant I saw my OB/GYN and a perinatologist. And every time I went to the perinatologist I got an ultrasound. That was every 6 weeks for the first few months, and then every 4, and then 2, and then every week towards the end – though I delivered at 33 1/2 weeks.
