Question by loneinnocence: Chances of twin pregnancy going to term?
Yesterday I had some bleeding and cramping so I went to the ER. My LMP was 07/09/09 which would make me 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant. They did a blood test and my HCG levels were at 7263. I had an ultrasound and it showed 2 gestational sacs, 1 with a yolk sac and the other did not have a yolk sac. No babies or heartbeats were seen. Do you think I will have a miscarriage?

2 gastational.. Lucky you. What did they say..? Maybe it’s too early to tell yet… Twins wow.
I am so sorry your going thru this. The results you might get are not gonna be too well. I’m afraid it doesnt sound as if you will be ok. Good luck.
You’ll just have to wait and see. At this point it’s too early to see the actual baby or heart beat. You’ll probably get another ultrasound soon to see how the pregnancy has progressed. It’s possible you’re still pregnant with twins but it is possible that one of the twins has already not made it but that doesn’t mean the other baby will not make it. I’ve read that many pregnancies start as a twin pregnancy but end up a single baby. Just relax it is still early.
4 wks is too early to see anything. We had my daughter’s 1st ultrasound at 6 wks and found two sacs. All you could see were two dots inside them. The reason for the difference in the two could be as simple as one is further along than the other. Don’t stress over it. But just so you know, lots of pregnancies start of as two fertilized eggs, but for some reason one just doesn’t attach and passes.
