Waiting to find out if you have achieved pregnancy is frustrating. Even if you have only been trying for a month the two week wait after ovulation can seem excruciating. There are now home pregnancy tests that can be taken a few days before a missed period with some degree of accuracy. Still, all the tests advise waiting until the first day of a missed period before trusting the result. There are some very early pregnancy symptoms that most women experience in the week before their period is due.
Implantation of the fertilized egg happens about 8-10 days after ovulation. At this point Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) starts to be produced. It is this hormone that causes most very early pregnancy symptoms. These symptoms are described as feeling just like PMS symptoms only more severe. Often it is only in retrospect that they are truly identified as being very early pregnancy symptoms. Also, wishful thinking can make you focus much more intensely on your normal PMS symptoms and cause you to think you are pregnant when you are not.
Very Early Pregnancy Symptoms Are:
Increased sense of smell - This often makes the nausea and vomiting worse!
Nausea and/or vomiting - This feeling has been compared to a bas case of morning sickness.
Urinating more often - Usually smaller amounts are expelled more often.
Breast tenderness - This is more intense then the usual PMS breast tenderness.
Fatigue - This typically lasts all day.
Implantation bleeding - This is usually slight pink or brown spotting.
Constipation - This is because increased progesterone makes the bowels sluggish.
Mood changes - Again, this is just like PMS only more extreme.
Cramping - Light menstrual like cramps can happen during implantation.
Bluish tint to the vagina - This is caused by increased blood flow to the pelvis.
