Trying to get pregnant! Tips to help concieve?

Question by that girl!: Trying to get pregnant! Tips to help concieve?
My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years. We have no children. About a year ago we decided to stop using birth control. Part of that time he was deployed to Afghanistan, but other than that, we have an active sex life. My periods are pretty regular. Any tips or advice? I am trying not to stress out about it but a year is a long time, and I am ready to be a mommy. If you know any tips, preferably ones that worked for you, I would be very grateful. Thanks!

  1. I’m very sympathetic to your problem. Since its been a year, you and your husband should be checked for infertility problems. They need to check your husband’s sperm count and make sure that you have open Fallopian tubes.
I went through all of this.
    I am now a grandmother of 3

  2. Did you check with you Doctor? My sister in law gave up, guess what she now has 2 kids….when you least expect it, thats how it seems to have worked for a lot of my friends and family.

  3. Don’t hop up and run to the bathroom right after you make love. Lying down for at least five minutes after intercourse increases the odds that the sperm will be able to keep their date with the awaiting egg and that you’ll win at baby roulette.
Make love often during your fertile period (the five days leading up to ovulation). If you’ve got the stamina to make love at least every 48 hours, you will ensure that there’s a fresh shipment of sperm waiting in the fallopian tube at any given time.

  4. Have sex in a position where your head is farther down than the rest of your body. Your vagina should be higher than your head (ex. laying face up off the side of your bed, your head touches a pillow on the floor and your bottom is up high on the side of your bed.) When your husband ejaculates, let his penis go soft inside you to ensure that you got most of his sperm. stay there about 2 minutes after he finishes. The sperm is more likely to swim up your vagina, which is more helpful than to have it leak out. Some of it will still leak out after the semen is more “watery”, but you would have gotten most of the sperm inside you, increasing your chances of getting pregnant. If you periods are at about the same time of the month every month. count back 14 days from your expected period starting date, and this day should be the day you ovulate…tell your husband not to drink mountain due. its been proven that it has a chemical that reduces sperm count. Your husband shouldn’t masturbate or have any sex with you for about 2-3 days before you ovulate. This will increase dramatically his sperm count for you…good luck
