Tips for getting pregnant?

Question by Ashley: Tips for getting pregnant?
My hubby will be home from Iraq in a few weeks and we want to get pregnant. Any tips besides for going to the OBGYN?
Also I started my folic acid (so I have a healthy baby) and take vitamins but not prenatal. Should I start prenatal now?

First off.....have intercourse as often has possible during your most fertile days. 2nd, do not use any contraceptives at all.
Finally, make sure you are healthy enough to have a baby.

Most of all enjoy your time together. I wish you the best.

  1. Wait until things settle down for you and your hubby. Then, enjoy making love and let nature take its course when the time is right. Focus on being with each other and not the baby making part. Eat healthy and take your prenatal vitamin.

  2. When you have sex, use a couple of pillows to elevate your bottom (this is for use with the missionary position, man on top) Stay on the pillows a few minutes after sex. Good luck!

  3. Don’t stress!!! Just have fun!!! LoL My husband and I decided we wanted to start trying when he returned from Iraq as well and we had a positive pregnancy test 4 weeks after his return. I just took prenate vitamins and layed still for about 5-10 minutes afterwards!
    Good Luck!!!

  4. Have him slap the thigh and ride the wave in. Enjoy your time together and let it try to work naturally

  5. Try hard, try often, put a pillow underneath yer rear and don’t stand up for at least ten minutes!

  6. you will need to know when you body ovulates. Usually it is 13-16 days after you start your period. You can buy ovulation kits to determine when you ovulating, or sometimes your body will tell you (discharge, backpain, constipation). My OB/GYN told me to have intercourse every 2nd day during my ovulation time. She also mentioned that if we are not pregnant within 6 months, she will start to test us on our individual fertility.

    Good luck!

  7. be sure your both in good shape. because sometimes fatigue is the cause why some female don’t get pregnant immediately.
I prefer after your period wait for 1 week, because there would be a high possibility you will get pregnant

  8. Taking the folic acid is MOST important, but you can also start taking prenatals now as well.
The most important thing is knowing when you are most fertile, which means counting days- the 14th after your period starts is when you are likely ovulating, and able to concieve.
My son was born on May and my husband and I had been trying to have another child for some time. It finally happened for us when we got serious and I started planning for my most fertile days.
This software helped me keep track of my own calendar and also explains what to watch for to know when you are ovulating…. Try it- Like I said, I used this (it gives you a free 15 day trial and that was all we needed!) and the FIRST time I got pregnant!

  9. You should start taking prenatal vitamins if you are trying to concieve, your doctor will tell you the same. It is good you are taking your folic acid, but you should visit with your doctor and tell them you are trying to have a baby. It is a good idea because they will check you out and make sure you are good to go to have that baby. Other than that, I went to webmd.com and created a fertility chart. This will tell you your optimal days for getting pregnant. For me to concieve it only took 2 months and we had sex every other day during my fertile week. Every other day is only necessary because the sperm stays in your body for 3-5 days.
    Best wishes and good luck.

  10. You can have sex often but if you have it more than every two days the sperm is weak. Every second day is when the sperm is at its most viable. You will also have to make sure you are in day 10 – 21 of your cycle for optimum time for your body to be ovulating~! Good luck

  11. actually, do not have sex as often as possible because it can take around 2 days for a mans sperm count to reload fully. have sex every two days around you ovulation cycle. after you have sex, stay horizontal for a least half an hour, perhaps w/ a pillow underneath your pelvis. good luck.
